From May’s kitchen to Cloud Theory
Hi, I’m May, the founder of Cloud Theory.
I’ve always loved making things, especially when they make someone else feel special. For me, that’s the fun of Cloud Theory: finding new ways to turn a familiar treat into something you’re excited to give, share or try for yourself.
I grew up around my parents’ doughnut shop in Los Angeles, where food, family and small business were part of everyday life. Years later, in my own kitchen in the Adelaide Hills, I found something new to explore.
I made my first batch of marshmallows in May 2017. A couple of months later, I made them again for my son’s first birthday. From those early experiments came more flavours, farmers’ markets and a growing business.
A little more than you expected
Today, Cloud Theory brings that curiosity to gourmet marshmallows, playful Cutie Mallows, cookies, s’mores essentials and DIY marshmallow kits.
The flavour is only part of what I love creating. The shape, the colours, the packaging and the surprise when someone opens the box all matter. I want each part to feel considered and bring a little delight.
That might mean a thank-you gift for a teacher, something unexpected to bring to dinner, or an afternoon making marshmallows with the kids. It might simply be a treat you spotted and couldn’t wait to try.
We want to make those little moments feel special, with sweet ideas that are fun to discover and a pleasure to share.
